How to clean your whole house using baking soda

Posted by Eveline on

If you are looking for quick solutions for home cleaning, look no further than the mundane baking soda. There is hardly another substance you can readily find around the house that can go through grime and dirt better than this. You can turn your home around, and make it sparkle with cleanliness if you just use baking soda and nothing more.

Take it to the kitchen

Are you already too annoyed with all the coffee stains on your favorite mug? Make sure your cup looks as good as new by mixing one part baking soda and two parts water in the mug and let the mixture sit there for an entire night. When you get to scrubbing and rinsing, you will be pleased to see that there are no unsightly spots to be worried about.

Now that you are done with all the unpleasant coffee stains, it is time to launch a battle against bad odors. Rinsing food containers with a mixture of water and baking soda will work wonders. Pots and pans with grimy bottoms can benefit from a good scrubbing with baking soda turned into a paste.

Bear in mind that the active ingredients in this substance need time to work, so letting it sit overnight is mandatory. Oven spills can be removed using the same strategy. And don’t forget about your silverware. It will once again shine beautifully if scrubbed with baking soda and water paste.

There is nothing better for your bathroom

The bathroom is another area of the house where you will have to use the power of baking soda if you want everything to start looking as good as new. Soap stains and mildew are no matches for this substance, and you can clean even the most stubborn stains, if you mix baking soda with vinegar, and create a robust solution that you won’t have to spend big money on.

Baking soda for cleaning your carpets

Carpets are notoriously difficult to clean because they retain moisture and they are not exactly easy to move around. If you need an on-the-spot solution, how about baking soda? A solution that will make you jump for joy since it is not hazardous to your health is a mixture of baking soda and ground cinnamon.

This mixture requires one cup of baking soda and two teaspoons filled with cinnamon. Pour everything into a container that can be used for sprinkling and then check your mixture on a small patch that is not visible. This step is necessary to avoid staining.

If everything works fine, sprinkle the mixture onto your carpets. Let it sit for about half an hour and then start vacuuming. All the bad odors will go away, and your carpets will be sanitized without any other steps to follow.
